Meet Our Physical Therapists ........

Dong H. Ko, DPT grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland until he went to college in Michigan.  He received Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Andrews University in 1999, then continued to study further in California. Dr. Ko received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2001. During his study, Dr. Ko actively contributed to the field of physical therapy through his leadership and instructing other PT students in Acute and Rehabilitation Department of Loma Linda Medical Center. 

After graduation, Dr. Ko decided to come back to his hometown in Maryland to practice physical therapy. From 2002 to 2007, Dr.Ko had worked at Access Physical Therapy, which became very successful during his employment by providing quality care and stress-free, enjoyable treatment experience to the patients.  

In addition to working at Access, two Adult Medical Day Care centers had asked Dr. Ko to provide treatments to their clients, in which he worked with various ailments associated with elderly population. 

In Decemer 2008, Dr. Ko opened a new office, Synergy Physical Therapy, in Maple Lawn community and has been practicing as a lead physical therapist. The practice has grown steadiliy since then, simply through patient's referrals and word of mouth. Additionally, Dr. Ko was asked to to work as an Ergonomics Consultant by Ahold (the parent company of Giant Foods) for a year which provided valuable help for employees in injury prevention.

Dr.Ko's primary focus is on finding new innovative approach to treatment and is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and techniques through continuing education and hands-on training. 

Marguerite Lewis, DPT grew up in Warrensburg, MO until 8th grade when her family moved to Northern Virginia. Following highschool, she completed a Bachelors of Science at Azusa Pacific University, during which she played collegiate volleyball. Following graduation, she returned to Virginia to further her eduction where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2015.

Dr. Lewis worked for UVA NOVANT Culpeper Medical Rehabilitation from 2015 to 2018 as primarily an outpatient physical therapist. During that time, she also coached volleyball at her alma mater high school. In 2018, she moved to Maryland with her husband where she practiced as a travel physical therapist in skilled nursing and outpatient settings and continued to work at ATI Physical Therapy for another year. In 2020, Dr. Lewis joined Synergy Physical Therapy to continue her passion in helping patients achieve their full potential and reach their individual goals.

As an avid volleyball player since young age, Dr. Lewis personally experienced the healing benefits of physical therapy through multiple injuries which led her to choose a career in physical therapy. She brings a high level of attention and care to each one of her patients so that patients can go back to what they enjoy doing.

Outside of work, Dr. Lewis coaches volleyball travel team (she sure loves volleyball!) and enjoys staying active with her family (she recently picked up golf!) and exercising.
